Elimination of B1B70 or U0170 error on Lancer X
Let us eliminate a front impact sensor error B1B70 (left sensor) and U0170 (right sensor).
Just 2 years ago, the error Airbag System Service Required began to appear occasionally on the dash panel of my Mitsubishi Lancer X. But at that time I thought it was all about the strong heat and a glitch in the system.
And just a couple months ago this error began to appear too often. Indication of given error was always on top of information on the dash panel display, creating some inconvenience when riding. That is why I have decided to scan the car and determine the error.
For easy reference, this instruction is represented in 2 versions: text and video at the end.
In MMCodingWriter software, using a netbook and J2534 compatible adapter i have determined the error number - B1B70, it is an error of left front impact sensor. It also could be an error U0170, it is an error of right front impact sensor.
Some can have a malfunction of both sensors when indicating the Airbag System Service Required on dash panel of Mitsubishi Lancer X.

Due to the fact, that given errors are connected with front impact sensors, which are responsible for safety, it is important not to ignore such errors and eliminate them.
I did some surfing and have known that Mitsubishi even had a recall campaign on changing given sensors and wiring until the middle of 2017.
These sensors are located on the upper panel of underhood space on the inside, there are 2 of them, left and right.
They fail due to the fact that they are located in quite aggressive place, there is either the sensor contacts oxidize or the sensors themselves in the results of their depressurising.
Therefore, it is advisable to change both of them at once.
I bought MW400022 set for 1500 rubles, consisting of 2 new sensors, brackets and fastening. I recommend you to buy exactly this set, as if you want to buy sensors separately it will be quite expensive. And of course it is better to buy new sensors, not second-handed.
Remove terminals from the battery, just in case.
I had to use WD-40, the nuts did not unscrew in no way.
Disconnect sensors.
As you can see, sensors are not in a good condition.
The brackets are corroded.
Install new sensors.
After riding for a while, the Airbag System Service Required error no longer appears on the dash panel. Now this error is eliminated on my Mitsubishi Lancer X and does not bother when moving.
